Maharashtra, an exclusive State of India, with all its peculiarities and features. A group of villages and towns… Each of its village has a temple of Maruti, Hanuman………. A special place built around a huge tree……. A stream…. Soil bearing a typical fragrance…….. Crops revealing the very same fragrance……….. And the humour………….. It flows just like the stream……. It is a fact that each stream has its own taste…….. This is so true about the humour……. Each village has its own style of humour……….. Every day, somewhere in the village a humour is born…… It might be the result of some bluffing, or simple gestures of those illiterates……. It might be the outcome of pretention or the memories of those passed days….. Even the youngsters invite humour from their carefree attitudes……. He does not fail to notice and portray it for us………. DM and his wonderful literary work especially for those who love to read today and tomorrow………. महाराष्ट्राच्या प्रत्येक खेड्यात जसे एक मारुतीचे देऊळ असते, एक पार असतो, एक ओढा असतो, त्या मातीत पिकणारे खास पीक असते; तसा गावरान विनोदही असतो. गावओढ्यासारखाच तो सतत खळाळत असतो आणि हरेक पाण्याची चव वेगळी, तशी या विनोदाची चवही वेगळी असते, खास असते. भंपक माणसांनी मारलेल्या बढायांतून, अडाण्यांच्या आणि अश्रापांच्या सहज वागण्यातून, बेरकी लोकांच्या गप्पांतून, जुन्या माणसांच्या आठवणींतून, तरण्यांच्या हुंदडण्यातून विनोद उसळ्या घेत असतो. रोज हसावे असे काही घडत असते. उत्तम म्हणून गाजलेल्या मिरासदारांच्या कथांतून हा गावरान विनोद अगदी जसाच्या तसा आढळतो.
