रंगीबेरंगी पानांचे एखादे झाड पाहिले, सुंदर पुÂलांनी लगडलेले एखादे झुडूप पाहिले, तर कोणाला आनंद होत नाही. झाडा-झुडपांबद्दल प्रेम न वाटणारा, मनाला आनंद न होणारा माणूस विरळाच!म्हणूनच संत तुकारामांनी म्हटले आहे, ‘वृक्षवल्ली आम्हां सोयरींR वनचरे.’ परंतु आता परिस्थिती बदलली आहे. आपणांस झाडाबद्दल प्रेम वाटत असले, फुलझाडे आपणांस आवडत असली तरी मोकळी जागा कोठे आहे, सध्या शहरात सिमेंट-क्राँक्रीटची जंगले झाली आहेत. फ्लॅट संस्कृती वाढते आहे. अशा परिस्थितीत झाडे कोठे लावायची ? परंतु इच्छा असेल तर मार्ग निघतो. घराबाहेर झाडे लावायला जागा नाही. म्हणून घरातच झाडे लावली, तर? घरातच आपण आपली बाग फुलवली, तर ? काही वर्षांपूर्वी ही कल्पना अनेकांना पटली नसती. परंतु आता ही कल्पना रुजली आहे. अनेक घरांत, कार्यालयांत निरनिराळ्या प्रकारची झाडे ठेवली जात आहेत. परंतु ‘घराबाहेरच्या बागेतील’ झाडांपेक्षा ‘घरातील बागेत’ लावायची झाडे वेगळी असतात. त्यांना जगवायचे, वाढवायचे तंत्र वेगळे असते ! ते तंत्र समजावे, आपल्या घरात नैसर्गिक झाडांची छान छान बाग कशी फुलवावी,वाढवावी याचसाठी आहे हे मार्गदर्शन - हे वाचून घरातच छान बाग फुलवा,निसर्गाचा आनंद लुटा, आनंदी व निरोगी व्हा. But still, these days the situation is tight, it does not allow us to allot any space to the plants and trees in our lives and houses. How much we love them, we cannot give justice to them. In the cement and concrete jungles around us there is space only for the flats and not the gardens. But, when there is a will, there is a way, isn`t it? It is true that we cannot plant them outside in gardens, but then we can always make some place for them in our houses, isn`t it? Can we not have a small garden inside our house? A few years back, people would not have agreed to this idea, but today this idea is largely acceptable. A variety of plants are seen inside houses and offices as well. While practicing it, we have to remember that the indoor plants are different from the outdoor varieties. Their technique is a bit different.
