``आपण सर्व स्वत:च्या कृतीचे पोलीस झालो तर ती फार मोठी क्रांती ठरेल.`` ``सुधारणा, वाईट गोष्टी रोखणे आणि चांगल्याचा अंमल करणे, यासाठी पोलीससेवेची सत्ता वापरता येते.`` ``ही सेवा मानवी हक्कांचे संरक्षण करू शकते अन् पायमल्लीही करू शकते. यातील काय निवडायचे ते या सेवेत असणारे आणि येऊ पाहणारे, यांनीच ठरवायचे आहे.`` ``आज आपल्या देशातील पोलीससेवा काही राजकारणी वापरतात. आपला वापर होऊ द्यायचा की नाही हे आपणच ठरवू शकतो.`` ``ही सेवा सुलभ आणि परिणामकारक व्हायची असेल, तर सत्य आणि अहिंसेच्या मार्गाने वाटचाल करायला हवी. असे द्रष्टे, कुशल, समर्पित नेतृत्व या सेवेतून पुढे यायला हवे अन् ते तळापर्यंत झिरपायला हवे आहे.`` पोलीससेवा अधिकाधिक लोकाभिमुख आणि नीतिमान कशी होईल यावर आपल्या दीर्घ, डोळस अनुभवाचे विचार मांडणाया डॉक्टर किरण बेदी, वाचकांना या पुस्तकाद्वारे आपल्या संवेदना, सहभाग आणि प्रतिक्रिया देण्यासाठी उद्युक्त करतात. It will be a revolution if we all could become the police of our actions. The police administration can be used to stop the bad things and to start the good things. Police Service can protect the human rights but it can also violate the human rights. It is up to those who are already there in these services and those who are going to be a part of these services to make a choice between these two. Today, some politicians are using the police services for their own benefit, but then it is the police who have to decide whether he/she should be used in this way or not? If we really want these services to be simple and most effective, then we must walk on the path of truth and nonviolence. We need such leadership which is visionary, which is skillful, which is devoted. Such a leadership should reach the bottom of the society. Dr. 106~ writes her views about making the police services more effective, virtuous, and friendly. She also gives us a call to join in with our feelings, participation and reactions.
